Want A Good Night Sleep? Grab Your Coffee and Calculate Your Bedtime HERE!

COFFEE MOCHA @ Somewhere Hotel, Deira, Dubai, UAE

As I am writing this, I have with me a newly refilled hot cup of COFFEE. It is now 10.57AM and my cortisol level is already at its low point so I need/prefer coffee  to boost it up.

Anyway, I just want to share this new found website - so  helpful to me since I have COFFEE anytime of the day which definitely mess up with my circadian rhythm - where you can determine the best times to doze off to have a good night sleep. Just in case you don't know yet, sleep can affect our moods or how we are the following day. Also, it has been studied and found that sleep quality is better than sleep quantity (Sleep Quantity versus Sleep Quality) and based on my experience, YES, it definitely is.

However, there are times when I find it hard to fall asleep in any of the times suggested in the website especially when I had COFFEE beyond 5:00PM.

So to help you (hope it does) have a nourishing and recharging sleep, visit: Sleep Time Bed Calculator

Coffee Gone Cold

I was chatting with a dear friend one afternoon about anything mundane then coffee was brought up, which made me remember that I made one for myself.  I reached for it to take a sip but it has gone cold and told her which she immediately quipped, ‘What’s new? Your coffee always gets cold before you could even finish it' and such gibe led me to asking myself, 'Why?’

Why? In the surface, to me it is just simply forgetting. I easily get swayed by anything that appeals to my interest. Like right now, as I am penning down these fragments of regard on coffee getting cold, a cup of coffee is actually in front of me, still and patiently waiting for my attention and thirst for the delight that's inside it. But words are coming forth and I am feeling the need to jot them down, religiously scribbling in between lines of page in the notepad, else they are gone forever.

Yes, my coffee often or should I say always gone cold before I could have its last drop. Wherever I was. Whenever it was. Whoever I was with. Or, this may be me:  instinctively holding the cup of coffee, on to take a sip but hold off for an interesting thought was brought up, then came the unending blab, then again holds the cup for a sip yet there again the birth of another topic and babble the thoughts away and on repeat until the coffee is forgotten and until it's time to leave.

I have not actually given a thought about my coffee often getting cold but what my friend said has sparked an interest in me to discern and look at it more. Coffee gets me elated, from the first hold of the hot cup, to the first sip, until the cup bottom settles on the table then commence the forgetting.

Such discernment brought me years back in my college days. I was actually told that I have a Ningas-Cogon attitude by one of my professors. It's an idiom in my native tongue. Ningas is flame and cogon is a rough, long, thin and dry grass that easily catches fire but burns out quickly. So yes, I was full of enthusiasm and passion initially but wither the soonest unexpectedly. I hate Math since time immemorial but for whatever reason, I found Probability and Statistics interesting then. At the first phase of the semester, I excelled (ehem! haughtiness aside) which got my professor’s attention but my interest died down even before the semester ended. Hmm, the comparison makes sense.

Honestly, I easily get bored. My passion for like anything dies down easily. Maybe should we just call it a craving since it’s when it gets satisfied even just a taste of whatever it is, I am done. But with regards to my coffee often getting cold, could there be any psychological reason behind it or, maybe am just making a fuss on this petty matter?

Americano Coffee at Caribou Cafe

Americano Coffee @ Caribou Cafe
Caribou Cafe at Sheikh Zayed Road, Dubai, UAE
is my ultimate favorite Coffee shop.

I love its ambiance.
The couches. The not-so-dim / not-so-bright lights.
The earth-colored coffee tables.
It is soo right in the feels.
So cozy. So like, home.

I am such a giddy and fidgety person but I could bury
myself to anything with my Americano coffee here.

==================================================
HEARTS FIRST (End)

That feeling of wanting to be closed to each other all the time, we felt that. We gave in to that. For a while.

Until one morning when I felt otherwise.

You reached out but I was nowhere. I did not want to be anywhere, with you, anymore.

Such a sudden drift that even I, myself wasn't able to figure out why.

I was with a friend in the mall. I saw you with your friends and was glad you haven't seen me. We changed direction in order not to get crossed your way. I inboxed your best friend's girlfriend telling that I saw you and his guy and that I felt bad about having no courage to walk straight up to you and talk everything out. That I did not want you anymore. That whatever we had must be stopped. That it was better for us to part ways for it would be so unfair for you if it continues.

Minutes later, I got a message. 'Gurl, sorry for this late reply, I went out to get something and left my mobile to Clint. Gurl, they've read your message. They knew.'

How fate or destiny or whatever cosmic intervention there was could be so playful sometimes. Who would have thought that someone who - most of the time - buries herself to her mobile yet left it with her boyfriend?

Your best friend knew. And, you knew. Through him.

I felt your pain.

It was so selfish of me. You did not deserve how you knew it. But truth must be told, regardless of however it was conveyed.

Oftentimes, we rant about how others could stomp our puny hearts without coming to realize that we were also stomping others' hearts to death.

Lost to Coffee and Classic French Interior Design at Paul Bakery and Restaurant

Apart from Coffee, I am also into how cozy a coffee shop could be.
With Paul, I am impressed with its interior design.
It's a French inspired.
A combination of earth and pastel colors that
would make you feel like being taken back to a certain era, ages ago.

Americano Coffee / Caffe Americano
This one is my all-time favorite.
F.Y.I
Americano is actually an Espresso but has more water.
If you want an Espresso yet not as strong as it normally is
that you still want to shut those eyes after intake,
Americano Coffee it is, for you.

Back to Paul Cafe.
I have read a lot of bad reviews about Paul,
their customer service and food in particular.
Well, I have not tasted everything that is on their menu but I have a bit to share.
Fortunately, our experience was different from others
with regards to customer service. We were served by a Bangali waitress
who was so warm and accommodating.
I ordered Americano Coffee which costs Dhs.17
and Gaulette Au Fromage, Dhs.15
(faluche bread topped with feta and emmental cheese)
and my friend had Cappuccino Dhs.19 and a slice of Black Forest Cake.

I love the bread. I effin' love that Gaulette Au Fromage.
However, my friend wasn't having a good time as I did.
She did not like how her Cappuccino was done
and was not satisfied with how her cake tasted.
Am not into sweets but I tried the cake to figure out what she was whining about.
And, yeah their cake was not as sweet as the usual cake.
I just told her that maybe her cappuccino had already made her buds sweet
and that whatever sweets she has to take in will be of lesser taste.
But, she was firm that her cake and coffee were not good,
so I just let her be, while I was enjoying my delights with Paul's cozy interior.

20 FACTS ABOUT ME AND MY COFFEE

buzzingbeebee This is about a game on Instagram, wherein you have to tell 20 facts about yourself if you have been tagged to a photo of just anyone. In my case, it was my crazy sister who brought me in the loop. So, there I was, thinking about these 20 facts; which surely a lot of people do not care about, but I couldn't get my self into writing and since I was meaning to blog something about coffee so I thought of why not just combining both? And, here's what I thought!

1. I got a boy friend who calls me KAPE (coffee) - Yes. every time we get to see on skype or in fb or in just any portal of communication to just randomly exchange how are you's and how's our day have been; coincidentally, I am always having coffee. Which led to birthing me that name. BUT, never had I gone out coffee with him, yet.

2. At 7am, it's either am still on bed or sipping my COFFEE while watching the sun's reflection gleaming on a building's facade - There are lots of buildings that can be seen through our room's terrace but there's this particular glass-green building where the sun beams directly on it. I usually watch the sun's reflected light from its top until almost halfway to the bottom then am on to hurriedly prep up for work.

3. 9.30-10am, my COFFEE break - This is when I religiously check and respond to emails and do some (unnecessary) tasks at work. It would be the weirdest thing in the world when I reach for my mug and the black delight is not there.

4. In anticipation for my circadian dip, I drink COFFEE right after lunch - Normally, my circadian rhythm sits in after lunch. So, since caffeine does its  magic on me 30-45 minutes after intake.

5. I got unusual COFFEE craving in between after lunch and 5.30 while in the office - I just want overflowing coffee.

6. I take advantage of the 5-15 minutes drowsing effect of COFFEE when I can't sleep - Yes. You've read it right. According to science, caffeine has a drowsing effect from 5-15 minutes after intake; depending on one's body response to caffeine. But, it normally is.

7. I got many COFFEE mugs back home - I got lots of mugs and no one could ever use any of them else I would go ballistic, except my MOM ^_^. Nah. I give mugs every Christmas and whenever I feel giving to my siblings so there's no reason for them to use mine (territorial alert).

8. Red is the color of my two COFFEE mugs (Dubai) - I love black and red. Need I say more?

9. My COFFEE mug gets to sleep with me during weekends - I take pleasure in staying up late reading or just watching anything with overflowing coffee. Then when sleep knocks in, I'd be then too lazy to get off bed and so my mug can just stay with me.

10. Our driver always wants to make me a cup of COFFEE, but i always say NO. - Always, a No.

11. Also when I don't feel like talking, he'd point a COFFEE shop when we get to pass by one. - He sure knows how to get my attention.

12. Got a list of COFFEE shops to go to - Yeah. It's one of my dreams. So, am onto realizing my dream, one step at a time. HAHA

13. Got a friend who has been to many COFFEE shops because of me - To try every coffee shop in town is my dream, right? So, he is or I am tagging -ourselves- along. HAHA

14. Got a friend who had provoked a nervous breakdown and incessant palpitation because of my addiction to COFFEE - One of my former colleagues liked watching me enjoying coffee. Eventually got lots of coffee break together or make coffee for each other. Which, unfortunately caused her palpitating beyond normal and a nervous breakdown. And, gradually she quit coffee.

15. I miss having a morning COFFEE in a floating cottage with schools of colorful fishes underneath. - One of my best memories ever! Having that morning delight in a floating cottage, watching the sea water shining with the sun's rays and those tiny colorful fishes that swam back and forth boasting their wonders! Best Summer ever!

16. My COFFEE often gets cold when am burying myself into something - This usually happens when am about to the finale of a book. Or, of incessant chatting. Or, it just wants to get cold? Or, I seriously don't know. ^.^

17. I drink my COFFEE to its very last drop tho it's the coldest coffee there is. - Yep, before the mug goes to the sink or me to somewhere!

18. Got reels of COFFEE blogs - Have written blogs and bookmarked lots of websites that talk coffee.

19. If you get to have a COFFEE with me, that means I like you - I can't have coffee with just anyone. Savoring that hawt delight is but a precious moment, so is whoever I will be with.

20. That rich aroma of a bitter-sweet black COFFEE #LOVE - TOTALLY.

Benefits From Caffeine Intake

http://dubaicoffeeshops.blogspot.ae/
I am into coffee. Please don't ask, WHY? The usual number of my coffee intake is around three to five mugs daily. Every day, I prep a mug after shower, sipping the caffeinated delight while preppin' up to work. I don't actually drink to wake the still-sleepy-me up but it is just part of the system already; where you feel incomplete without it, you know that feeling? Then, when I reached office, I again prepare for another mug so I could sip my way to doing the morning routine. The third sipping happens every before or after lunch time, in anticipation for the upcoming circadian dip. The fourth sipping pleasure is made either at around four to five o'clock; that moment when you just want a hot beverage and coffee comes to mind automatically. And, the fifth, sixth or seventh brew lands on my hand depending on the mode of that time being. Like when I feel burying myself into a book, or accompany myself with anime/cartoons or hilarious actors; expect the presence of caffeine as well.

My mom and friends have been telling to cut myself a little from caffeine. And, I did try. A hundred times. And, always; as often as I deprived me; found myself back onto making mugs of bitter-sweet-black delight. What worries them surely is the effect of too much caffeine in me, already. It could be bad, they thought. I did think too, but I just brushed it off my mind. However, as I collect websites that blog about caffeine on coffee, I found positive results in taking pleasure on coffee. Good news, eh! YEY!

So, here are just some of the benefits of drinking coffee!

IT MAKES YOU HAPPIER
Coffee is Happiness, it is! Seriously? Yes. Seriously. According to a study, Sweetened Beverages, Coffee and Tea in relation to Depression Among Older US Adults, caffeine intakes lower the risk of suffering from depression.

IT WAKES YOUR BRAIN UP
Yes. Caffeine will give your brain the boost it needs when it is in a calm or sleepy state. Michael Lemonick; a big-coffee drinker from TIME Magazine, said "It allows you to use the brain power you have in a much more efficient and focused way." Read here for more, A Smart Way To Start Your Day.

IT MAKES YOU HEALTHIER
And, another YES. As to research, coffee drinkers limit their risk to Develop Skin Cancer, reduces the chances to Type 2-Diabetes and prevents your mind from giving in to Alzheimer. Read here for more on, Caffeine on Skin Cancer, Caffeine on Type 2-Diabetes, Caffeine on Alzheimer.

These truly justify the big-coffee-drinker in me! Now, with just these three major benefits, are you not to woo coffee yet?
